I just opened a new account. How do I deposit money into it?

There are three easy ways to get started:

  1. Transfer money from another AloStar Bank of Commerce account into your new one.
  2. Mail a check (please be sure to include your deposit slip) to AloStar Bank of Commerce, PO Box 43600 Birmingham, AL 35243-3600.

After I send my money to AloStar Bank of Commerce, how long before I can use it?

We suggest that you allow one business day for wire transfers and two business days for ACH (electronic check). However, if you have Demand Deposit Line of Credit on your account, you already have access to those funds. You can always check your account balance in real time via Account Access, Telephone Banking (1-877-399-6391), ATM Account Inquiry, or AloStar Bank of Commerce Customer Service (1-877-738-6391).

Do you accept deposits at ATMs?


No. You may only withdraw money or perform balance inquiries at ATMs.

What type of deposit will AloStar Bank of Commerce "not accept"?

AloStar Bank of Commerce does not accept the following types of deposits: Cash, Counter Checks, Third-Party Checks, Money Orders, Travelers Checks, and Credit Card Checks.

Can I change my Debit card PIN number?


Yes you can change your Debit card PIN number at anytime by calling 1-866-661-8548.

What do I do if I lose my Debit card?


Notify AloStar Bank of Commerce immediately during AloStar Bank of Commerce business hours at 1-877-738-6391 and a Customer Service Representative will assist you. AloStar Bank of Commerce business hours are Monday - Friday 8am-5pm (CST). We are closed Saturday and Sunday. If you need to report your card lost or stolen and it is after business hours, please call 1-800-472-3272.

When and how will I receive my statements?


Statements can be viewed online at anytime. Statements include information on every AloStar Bank of Commerce account that you have. Click here for help in accessing your online statement.

How do I activate my Debit Card?


Activate your card by dialing the telephone number on the front of your debit card. Having trouble? Contact our customer service center at 1-877-738-6391.

What are the cutoff times for sending out funds?

Issuing checks is 3:30pm CST. If not received by then, it will be processed the following business day.

Wire cutoff is 2:00pm CST. If not received by then, it will be processed the following business day.

How do I access my account online?

  1. Visit our website at www.alostarbank.com
  2. On the top right of your screen, click on 'Account Login'
  3. Click on 'Personal Online Banking'
  4. At the top of the screen, click 'First Time User'
  5. Type in you Access ID (which is your full account number)
  6. Choose you 'Account Type'.  Please note if you account is a Money Market, we consider these types of accounts to be 'Checking'
  7. Enter your temporary password, which is the 6 digit PIN you receive via the U.S. mail
  8. Click 'Submit'
  9. The next screen will ask you to enter a New Access ID, New Password and Confirm Password

You will be prompted to agree to Terms and Conditions and set up your security questions and answers.

How do I close my account?

What is the timeframe for reissuing a cashier's check?

90 days, if the item has not been presented, the bank is obligated to reissue the check.  The remitter or the payee must execute a declaration of loss.  Please contact customer service to request the documentation or if you have additional questions.

I have forgotten my password, how can I find out what it is?

Click the "Forgot Password" link.

You will receive a prompt to type in your current User Code along with providing additional identifying information, such as the last 4 digits of Tax ID Number/SSN and Email Address that is on file.

This information will be used to authenticate the user.

  1. A randomly-generated temporary password is sent to the email address on file.
  2. Once you receive the temporary password, return to the log in screen, type in your User Code and temporary password.
  3. You will then be prompted to change your password.
